Movie Analysis!
Hi Everyone! Today in class we had to find a short film and then rate it based on the rubric! You can find the rubric down below. The short film I found is called "Miss Perfect" by JinnyBoyTv. I hope you enjoy my analysis of it!
Criteria 1: Tells a story which holds the audiences attention (20 points)
Because Miss Perfect begins with the main character as a young boy watching a movie and seeing his "dream girl" he makes a list of what he wants, and doesn't want, in a future wife, the short movie caught my attention throughout the movie. Later on, he meets a girl who is quite different from what he had anticipated, making the story funny and captivating.
Criteria 2: Demonstrates camera work, and editing which enhances the story (15 points)
The editing and camera work were great but not flawless! Some scenes could have followed the characters more closely or shown different angles to make the emotions stand out better. Even so, the visuals still supported the story overall.
Criteria 3: Contains dialogue, narration and/or background music which enhances the story (20 points)
The dialogue and writing were strong and realistic, especially when he immediately turned her down and called named her contact as “turn-off.” The story flowed naturally since the background music complemented the tone of each scene. When it came to the girl finding out what his contact for her is it was more tense and ominous.
Criteria 4: Has compelling and interesting actors (20 points)
Throughout the entire short film, the actors were solid and amusing. You could tell they werent professional but they absolutely crushed this! The movie was entertaining to watch from beginning to end because of their convincing and natural performances.
Here is the rubric i went by!
Total score was 75/80
